Yes, I wish there was a Still Life category.

I do like the image but can't quite see enough to link all the items together. The books top right seem to me to be a bit over-processed, and the watch is a bit incongruous. The thing with still lifes is that all the components really mean something to the author, but perhaps the meaning is lost on outsiders. I think this is a really attractive image, but it doesn't gel with me, although I really like the overall effect.

Sometimes I think a still life can simply be pleasing to the eye. If I had anything in the back of my mind it was Thou shalt not kill being one of the whole dutys but I'm not sure it was ever a final theme.

On the processing, maybe it's just the finish of the binding, as the only processing this ever had was a tweak on the contrast in Lightroom.

Thanks to those who viewed it.

I like it. It's a nicely lit, simple arrangement that at first glance may not mean anything specific ... But I'm finding the more I look at the different elements, it's kind of coming together for me and has a kind of the dangers of extinction feeling for some reason. The skull, the hypodermic needle, the eggs ... books to suggest that we should be more informed about the choices we make that impact on things like nature and wildlife, and perhaps the watch to indicate that time is running out for certain species ...

I've not quite figured out yet where the fluffy blue things on the right hand books fit with all that, but still ... So whether it's one of your best or not is a moot point for me - it's making me think, which is only ever a good thing Smile

Its a bookmark but I appreciate the time to unfurl the elements. Smile
