Now what is the point in being good Keith. No fun at all Wink

Stunning portrait Keith, not even going to attempt to crit. Love the way you have composed the image with the girl just off centre. Love it how her hair seems to be slightly moving as well.

Just beautiful.

this is very beautiful
and I would like to try and emulate your processing - not to copy as such but being inspired by Wink
but I confess I don't really understand your description

Quote:Image then converted to black and white using the green and red channels with a gradient overlay to finish

would you be willing to explain that a bit please?
thanks merille

thanks guys

Hi merille,

I simply copied the green channel to a new layer and then layed the red layer over it. The green layer retained more of the dark eye detail and so I brought that through the red layer with a soft eraser brush, plus some hair detail.
Finally I put a black and white gradient layer mask over the flattened image with the dark tones pushed slightly and set to luminosity.

The skin looks a little porcelain to me, did you do any work on it (other than your fancy channel business)?
keithh 17 25.8k 33 Wallis And Futuna
31 Jul 2008 9:27AM
Nope...it's high key, so the over-exposure and the lights blow out the skin.
