Swellendam Reservoir

Swellendam ReservoirNice scene , but foreground is maybe a bit soft , you could try setting your aperture smaller f11 or as close , this will give you a slower shutter speed but you should still be ok hand held on bright days like this and more of the image will be sharp.

Dark Sky

Dark SkyNice shot like the HDR style. Do think the red in the sky is too strong and a bit unrealistic , might be totally wrong here and the sky might have be this colour for you , just that part of the shot doesn't work for me , being a bit picky as it's still a very cool shot

blue damselfly

blue damselflyBig fan of macro stuff but for me the Key element of a successful macro image is sharpness of which I try to focus on the eye , for me most of these shots just are not sharp enough to work v6 is best , I too improvise which home made flash devises and also use a non stabilised lens , think using a tripod or mono pod can really help sharpen things up a bit , not meaning to be negative as all are cool shots but just lack the sharpness to really deliver. Kind regards . Kel

Mean 'n Moody

Mean 'n Moodyits another great shot Mike , my only criticism might be the halo effect along the mountain ridges , this might be caused be the effect you have applied in processing to bring out the most in the sky , but it is a bit distracting in the shot for me , Kel.

Reflections in mono

Reflections in monoevening John , really like this shot mono works great , love the skeletal trees in the center of the shot and the reflections finish the scene off great .If i was going to be very picky i might have cropped out the leafy tree on the far left of the shot just to focus your eye a bit more on those main tree , very cool shot John , stay well mate kind regards Kel

Dieselpunk Stormtrooper

Dieselpunk StormtrooperGreat idea and skill for this image , don't find the white section a distraction , I think it adds something to the concept of the storm trooper theme , being they were gloss white. Tones and texture are spot on also , do think the dark cut of line running down the top of the face is a bit sharp , the edges in the rest of the image seem nice and gradual but this one isn't , really good shot look forward to seeing more of your work , Kel

River clyde

River clydeNice image like the lines in and the texture of the water ,cool shot , do think the sky to the far right of the image is a bit over cooked , shot might have worked better with a couple of exposures blended in a bit , also might have cloned out the rail on the right , minor points and there only mine anyway , nice shot ,Kel

Dragonfly2Good shot dof is spot on , think maybe a higher iso setting would have allowed faster shutter speed, might have helped getting the insect a bit sharper .
