St Marys Seals

By kel55
Out on Monday at St Marys light house on the North East coast , plan was to take long exposure shots and practice with new Lee hard grad filters , tide out and had followed rock line to behind light house without seeing signs asking people to stay away from seals , later found out that the seals were molting and need to be out of water more due to lack of insulation , i was totally ignorant to this and thought i had just got lucky in bumping into a seal that was staying put , eventually caught sight of lady waving at me from lighthouse , got abit of a telling off and was asked to spread word for people not to approach seals during day time when they are warming up . some seals have been injured in trying to get back in the water without real energy to do so . if i had had 400mm lens with me things would have been a lot easier , cheers for taking a look , Kel

Great detail in the face and the banded water and headlands above make a great frame.
