took this a couple of weeks ago before going into work .only had a short time to set up on take pics , wish i had been further to the right to separate sun and light house a bit more , maybe next time , took 1 shot in raw and put together 3 exposures in pse

It definitely adheres to the 'less is more' principle of effective landscape photography. Plus your horizon is dead level and the proportions of land to sky are good. I agree with your comment that the lighthouse and sun could have used more separation but it's hard to arrange the ideal image if you are pressed for time! My other thought would be perhaps you don't need quite as much sky since it's relatively devoid of cloud interest, perhaps a tighter crop would help that. If you kept the same proportions though, it might work even better before the sun came up and using a longer exposure to flatten the sea and make a more abstract image. This is still a great image as others have said. Smile
