Recognised this folly. Had a bash at it myself a few times but found you have to be there when early or late in the day.
It could work in B&W although the sky would be a problem being that is plain with no clouds.

Good use of light and shade - agree with the others that this would be good in b&w.

Nice curves and shadows, Tim, worth giving a little tlc or, as suggested, an alternative treatment.
Have done you a little mod with some sky taken from the colours in the picture.
