Excellent Drama in the sky and an overall brilliant landscape. lots to look at with some great details. I also like the subtle rays of light from the sun..were these from the shot or added in via processsing?

Hi guys

Thaks so much for all your comments really really appreciated. There was a fair bit of post production work with this image but the composition is completely original as it came out the back.

The sky was slectively processed - as a single layer - clarification, colours pushed, saturation pushed and some work with curves to create the drama. The lighting behind the clouds has also been massively enhanced to give the sunburst effect.

The horizon was cloned in order to remove the transition between fg and bg that results from an over zelous 'magic wand'. Whilst the fg is almost exactly as it was out the back.

Perhaps I should post the original as a variant - will do if I get a change this evening.

Sorry I have been rather inactive this week (crazy work pressures and my celing collapsed at home - one of the wonders of living in a 150 year old house I guess!).

Cathc up with you all later.

Best wishes

Wow, what a shot Robert..full of atmosphere and so interesting too. The mod is excellent but I would think that with that kind of light yours is perhaps the more realistic.

Great place though - maybe not the most photogenic city in the world.

Thanks Di I appreciate that (but it is a good mod I think) and thank you too Alan so glad you enjoyed it.

Wow Robert, such an interesting moody shot. I do like the mod bringing out the foreground colour - but what a great shot you caught (& fiddled with).

I'll have to learn how to do that thing you do with the sky, we don't get much sky in my part of the word; it tends to be variants of deep blue. OK. if you're on holiday but a drag for taking landscapes.
Very atmospheric photo. Smile
