Very cool - I have a question if you don't mind (my camera only goes to 15 seconds - so I have no idea how 4 minutes behaves). What time of the day (or night) would this be? Was it taken at dark, and for 4 minutes you're just extracting any light you can??

Very Well Done!

Many thanks for the kind comments.

In answer to Mike's (mikears) question. It was taken at dusk, at least half an hour after sunset. I think I used the camera's bulb (B) setting and timed it with my watch (alternatively you can do multiple exposures if your camera can do it).

Exposure was extrapolated from whatever aperture gave me a shutter speed of 30s (the longest on my camera). In other words, if I got a reading of 30s at f16, f22 would be 1 min, f32 would be 2 mins but then add 1 stop (i.e. double the time) for reciprocity failure.

Has an almost painterly or panning effect with the soft movement of the clouds & water - lovely shot.
