Steetley Pier, Hartlepool
This now redundant structure was once part of the Steetley Magnesite Works which used to dominate a large part of Hartlepool's Headland. The Magnesite Works have been demolished and the ground cleared. All that remains is this remnant of the pier which carried two pipes out to a concrete structure a short distance beyond the low water mark. A gap has been created in the pier, presumably to prevent anyone from walking out to the end. Apart from the pipes and deck supports, the rest of the pier looks to be of timber construction.
