Corfe Castle Again...

By kimgeliot
Ok, so here if Corfe again looking slightly more gothic than the last post ! This may not be to everyones taste but I think you will all agree it's got a bit more depth than the other one. I'm quite chuffed with it now actually...but I'll leave that to you to decide!

Very Hammer Horror, Kimmy. You can almost imagine the lightening in the background. Like it x

Nice composition - not sure if you haven't overdone the sky a bit.

Indeed slightly more gothic - like the atmosphere in this one. Well done.

Doesnt work for me, the main part of the picture doesnt fit with the sky, and its a little noisy too - would work better in b&w i reckon.

Thanks for your honest opinon there Deez, perhaps I'll try it in Black and White and see what it looks like x

You've been busy with it Kim! I would tend to agree that the sky needs a little sorting out here, but this image was built for playing with!

I like the dreamy effect you've achieved and the way the light is fallling on the lower courtyard.

I would have another go at the sky, it's pretty grainy. Try to eliminate the light colored artifacts around the towers, it makes them look cut out, as does the white light in the right hand tower's window. Overall a great effect though. -click-

Has got depth, I'm not sure about the sky, but that's just me, a great picture.

PS. Your right, you will know what I'm talkng about, I did not put enough thought into it.
Thank you for that. :0)

I would agree I probably went a bit OTT with the sky, but the other post of this photo is totally flat sky-wise, so went for something the total opposite ! Cheers for the comments x

Had a similar comment to a posting I put up yesterday. I went OTT in PS with a shot of a pup. Sometimes we do go a little OTT and have to know when to stop. having said that, I can see this on the cover of a book, has a watercolour feel to it.Paul

Nice composition. I wish the sky were not so grainy. Did this happen during resizing?

Yeah, it was really overcast and the sky originally looked pretty boring. The original photo which I did nothing with is also posted in my profile. I went all out bonkers with photoshop, but I was kind of experimenting ! I quite like it looking grainy, I think it gives it a vinyl look, but I will try other things out with this when I've got the hang of the software...cheers for you comment.

WICKED!! Love what you've done with this! Thanks for your kind comments by the way, I sometimes just like to muck about with photoshop and see what happens... don't suppose that's very pro!! Really love this one. Well done.
