Sunset beckons

By KingArthur
Caught experimenting again with the D40 yesterday afternoon as the sun bid us farewell ...

These lovely wayside flowers simply called for a touch of fill-in flash and capture against the marvellous sunset colours. I fine tuned the extent of flash density and played around with the composition to taste basically. Since I needed all the dof I could muster, it had to be a 1/4sec. handheld shot too!

I loved the shot and its 3D effect instantly ... quite fascinating this D40 is folks, believe me!

I hope you like the shot, viewed large if possible. Thanks for viewing.

Did'nt take you long to get the hang of the Nikon Joe, this is a stunning shot, hard to believe it's hand held at that slow speed. Can't make up my mind whether it's the sky or the hollyhocks I like best, great photograph and presentation.

Adore this composition style, the flowers with the sunset make this a stunning image, wonderful tonal range through the colours.
Flowers look like very tall snap-dragons to me.
