First, in regard to "500 Boylston", huge thanks to Ian for his Guest Editor award and to Vincent, Chris, Ken, Arne, Bill, Keith and Lory for their lovely UAs, and to all others who voted and commented on it.

Today's upload shows a Monarch butterfly, which I spotted in the local cemetery in Newfane, Vermont during this year's visit to New England. As stunning as this solitary specimen is, it is as nothing compared to my privileged sighting many years ago in northern Minnesota of a veritable kaleidoscope of these beautiful creatures gathering for their annual migration to Mexico where they hibernate over the winter. In the 40-or-so years since I don't recall having seen any Monarchs at all, probably because my frequent US trips have generally taken me to places where, depending on the time of year, they would not normally be found. Anyway, this little beauty has more than made up for that.
