I prefer number 2... The letterbox crop just works somehow. I think it benefits from a little bit of negative space.

Excellent image Jo. I would be tempted to slightly enhance the catchlight in your right eye, its a little lifeless as it stands. The overall comp and feel of the image is top drawer.

HI JO
Sorry it doesn't really work for me.
The cloth is bright and fun with a bow, but you seem to me look really sad. For me for this to work I would need a stronger narrative.
Because the cloth is not a normal piece of clothing and it goes right up to your head( so no neck showing), and the darkness on the left side. I get this strange feeling that your head is disconnected from the body, like its been stuck on. I'm finding this a bit disconcerting.
Great exposure, and I'm enjoying the colour palette.

Great work Mum, works really well for me. Both versions are fab, perhaps at a push I'd say V2 but as I say, both are great =] x

Oh boy...this is the toughest fight ever for choice. I looked at V1 and fell for it immediately. Then I looked at V2 and went WHOA.

V1 would be perfect for a framed large print. V2 would be perfect for an exhibition poster of your works.

If threatened with a wobbly icepick and a large bag of frozen peas, V2 would win out with me.

Either way, the thumbnail blew me away and the full image even more so.

-----

I disagree with Martin (stix). I think this totally works. It sighs so fully of romance...that was not to be.

To me, anyway.

I think this works well, v2 gets my vote, almost cinematic (but maybe that is down to presentation. I like the deep shadows.

Very feminine .... prefer the crop in V2 but preferably without such chunky borders.
