this guy dances in front of a troupe of drummers in the centre of Manchester.
he's very energetic ( hence the sweat running down his face ) but i was struck by how peaceful he looked when i zoomed in on a much larger image
original shot in mods, i keep doing that for some reason! lol
ta for looking

That's a striking image, would love to see it larger.
I'd like to see it larger - great colour and lighting.
wrong box lol
i can't decide which BG to give it on here :-/
Excellent work! Very dramatic. I'd lose the frame though - it seems to take away from the shot.
Love this Jo really impressed with what you have done with it.
Wonderful portrait and beautifully produced.
Superb treatment on this......not something I would have thought of at all.
I would just leave the border as black, I don't think it needs anything to try and pull it out.
Just viewed the mod - and I too am very impressed with what you have done with this shot, excellent work.
thanks all, and for the mod richard, that's a nice frame!
to be honest i didn't really put much thought into framing :-/ wasn't even going to post this but i quite liked the way it turned out myself so...
Wow, clever manipulation, it's bben well worth it too. Terrific image.
this works really well, great manipulation
That is one beautiful shot! His expression is amazing, and what you've done is, too.
That's a great image Jo and seeing what it came from really adds. Great work!
I too like what you've done with a pretty mundane shot Jo. The black background, elongated crop and off-centre composition are very effective. Bigger would be better, but I guess you'd lose quality bearing in mind the small portion of the original shot that you've actually used.
I should smile nicely at Pooch and he'll send you one of his spare telephoto lenses. Ask him for the 24-105 F4 L if I were you
This is superb because of the creative composition! Really striking image. Well done.
Excellent capture.Fantastic light.
Amazing manipulation Jo, great stuff
A brilliant bit of work Jo
Great low key shot.
thanks very much everyone!
Outstanding, jo. Nuff said.
you're off and running with the new cam now jo...i've seen this guy a hundred times, and always enjoy watching him, but you have captured a fabulous shot of him here
A fantastic bit of work from the original.Class, final image is awesome.
lol looks like you are sneaking up on me this time,im next shot.
after seeing the mod i am blown away this is superb editing.
this is creative and first class
well done Jo
I am completely amazed by the difference between this and the original. A staggering shot.
Talk about finding a picture within the picture. Great eye, imagination and PS treatment.
Superb, powerful image! Love what you did with it. Congrats on the HC!
fantastic and beautiful image, so well presented, congrats on HC...jojo
Hey, I was in Manchester on Saturday 14th (i.e. yesterday) and saw this guy & the drummers in front of Marks & Spencer, where they usually perform! They're called the Manchester Samba School. I didn't take any pics today but my last-but-one upload was a close-up of one of the drummer's hands. I've got a shot of the black guy on the latest page of my portfolio too. Click!
