I like it a lot. I wonder if it would be better with a portrait crop? I see a curve going through the arm on the left and own the dress which would look particularly dramatic in a portrait crop, just my 2p!

Nice. Great idea with the 'splash of white'.

Generally for me it's the odder the better, but there's a quiet dignity about this version that is quite compelling. It has the feel of a traditional portrait that's hung for centuries in a country house while still being bang up to date.

Fabulous Jo .... the only frills are in the dress Wink

Perfect crop too IMO as the background and sense of space around the figure adds a lot of value too.

Re: Guest Editor Award

This for me is pretty much a perfect combination of portraiture and digital manipulation. Beautiful lady, marvellous costume and and oh so fitting background.

Superb.

Yeah, I do prefer this one jo, and can't improve on MrU's comment so I won't try. All I'll say is that his award was very well deserved!

I think both images are great. The expression on the model's face is just fabulous and I'd love to see a close up.

The best part of this is her face....such a cheeky expression. I do miss the geese...they gave it a whole different slant.
