one of a few self portraits i tried a week or so back..i've posted a couple of them already, trying different treatments on each, but i thought i'd risk one more of my ugly mug just because i managed to get it reasonably sharp on the eye for once...

apologies to those who clicked on its brief appearance yesterday...i had to get rid of a few rough bits and that...

thanks for looking

Phil, you are a brave man, but the image is very well worth the bravery! This is a clever composition, and your expression adds real strength to the image with its elegant toning.

It's an eye-catching shot Phil .... great comp and quite engaging. Why not go straight high-contrast BW though?

And I want a Kitsch award too Smile

Gritty and somehow enigmatic... probably because I can't tell if that look is enquiring or challenging.

I want a Kitsch award too... and you seem to have far more than your fair share. Smile

I like the composition/space you've left to the side, the toning works well but B&W would be interesting too. For me, it's the eye that makes this work - just can't stop looking at it!
