The Framed Cook

By MediumSizeUnavailable
Thank you for taking the time to view the larger version

didn't say I wouldn't delete it though Wink

Sorry to the people who took the time to comment on my previous upload. Decided to go for this one instead. Entered this one as well in the Framed competition where it beyond any doubt will die a silent death.
Also taken at Hua Lamphong train station, Bangkok, Thailand, in November 2007.
It's a train window you're looking at.

Thanks for viewing. Feel free to critique and comment. Promise I won't delete it again (only because I don't get a 3rd chance though lol)

Me personally I don't mind the legs in the background, but I do find that bright piece of litter to the right of the tracks a little detracting. Strong perspective created by the receding tracks though.

Int -- er - net pr -o -b- lems to- day.

All a bit stop-starty so by the time I'd composed my critique and got a clickable browser you'd whipped the pic away.

This ones's better anyway. The view of the lady and all her clutter is a delight and it's framed beautifully by the train window and rather distressed section of carriage. This obviously won't do as well as my two "Framed" entries but it could well get third place Wink

he he... wouldn't be surprised Dave. You were the first person I thought of when I saw the theme. It seems rather custom made lol. Your biggest problem probably was the limitation of two entries per person and not knowing which two on earth to choose among that multitude of photos that fit the theme

lol .... just as well I'm not judging or I'd have to disqualify myself. Creating composites is a doddle .... it's real photography like this where you get the result in one shot that's impressive.

Unless of course you took 700 shots on the day and this is the only good one Smile

That train station is one superb environment for photography. This is a lovely photo, the colors in this are really excellent, the red really jumps out at me. Strange shadows/hole behind her, her expression very captivating; the train colours by now the red line signature element in this series. I would expect this to do well in any competition Koen. Regards, Bert

The strange shadows in the bg is from a large cooking pan Bert, and the shadow of it thrown on the wall against which it is hanging. Because the pan is basically pitch black it make for a rather strange effect, and merges with the shadow.
Thanks for the comment

I love the framing on this Koen, the surroundings and colors help to isolatate the window view to great effect so all the interest and detail is focussed on the subject, superb.

First class picture Koen. I really like the framing in the window, the colour and the texture of the railway carriage. I'm not sure I'd like to eat anything she cooked in that kitchen though! John
