Can we cross the street now?

By kuipje
We visited a beautiful bird park in a little town called Alphen aan de Rijn (Rijn = the river Rhine). You could spent a whole day here. That day was a splendid day in Holland
As always comments/tips/advise most welcome

V2 is too dark, was the lighting poor? Increasing the Exposure Comp by +1 stop could have been helpful.

V1: Though brightened still bit dull for me but thats down to personal opinion.l

Also its a bit tight, especially form the right and left. A bit more space would have been nice.

Else a nice capture, perfect timing and lovely ...... I dont know which bird it is. Is it a Penguin or Puffins? ( wild guess )

It's great to get three inside your frame, Bianca and Jos, and the interest for me lies in the fact that the "twins" are looking one way whilst the other is looking the other way, in a far more disinterested way. I think this lends itself to a number of hilarious captions, e.g. One on the right, "Flippin' 'eck, dinner's taking a long time".

I assume V2 is your original, and very dark, which leads me to say that you recovered it very well in V1.
You have good detail throughout, but a bit more space to either side would be good.
It does have a blue cast, but that can be remedied in post processing.
I feel it could still do with a bit more brightening, too.
Strangely, as we have seen before, the green leaves top right are eye-pulling because the rest of the image is nearly mono.

In my modification I used the Channel Mixer to get rid of the blue, brightened the image, toned down the foliage and selectively sharpened just the eyes and beaks.
I'm a little bit concerned because you didn't like Ishan's modification and I'm not sure why - was it the sharpening?
I also tried a mono version, unusual for me.

An amusing image with a lot of charm and interest.
