As a new user of ePHOTOzine, I look forward to sharing and viewing images of other subscribers as a means of continuing to improve my photography while contributing to others growth as well. I create mostly landscape and travel images, but also contribute to street, architecture, and documentary photography. How I see images is primary. Then creating an effective compositions that are technically correct results in conveying a message, interpreting a scene, or communicating feeling.

I look forward to meeting and sharing with many other photographers on ePHOTOzine and enjoying our art together. Smile LarryG

Thanks, Alf. I was trying out my new 16-35mm f4 Nikon lens. All the train service through here is freight, but who's to say the engineers and other train staff don't have stories to tell. You are correct, simplicity is best with photography. The trick here was getting the tracks parallel to the horizon line. I did this with the LR transform panel with "guided." Thanks for your visit and comment.

Alf, I really like the high key nature of this image in the mid and backgrounds. Also, you did a great job including an interesting and tack sharp foreground. Your title is interesting too. Not apparent till I read your leading remarks. What wonderful country in which you photograph. I just acquired at Nikon 16-35mm f4 lens and am liking so far. I notice that f5.6 produces nice DOF. Do you find this too?

Super image. Let's hope for warmer climes. Larry

  • Somewhere over a rainbow

HI Alf, I think your image, in relation to a couple of your recent others, demonstrates the importance of mood and message in photography. In a recent post you dwelt on a dark presentation that was pensive, perhaps with a bit of gloom. Here I see cheer and brightness with a perfect rainbow to bring home the message. Excellent well composed wide angle shot in which the hut offers contrast most effectively. Happy spring - we had six inches of snow overnight. Larry

Hi Alf, Nice sharp image. There seems to be a lot going on in the image that is split by the light shadow in the center. I am not bothered by the "falling off to the right.", but wonder if the image is a bit too tight. Would more breathing space help? What do you think?

  • Winter Sun

Alf, Lovely intimate landscape. I like the way you hid the sun behind the tree to soften the back lighting. Terrific image. Larry

These rocks are well stacked, so I will not breathe hard on them lest they fall. The rocks create a nice sharp image. Thanks for viewing and commenting on my winter scene. One suggestion is to straighten the horizon line. Larry
