Thank You Ted for the correct ID...I am seriously no good at telling Spitty's and Hurricanes apart...Give me a big bird like a Lanc and I know where I am!!Smile

The Hurricane is the lower one, if you took these at Duxford then I have the same pair amongst others that I took on the 9th.

A fine shot. At that angle the give away is the cockpit canopy. The Spitfire has a shorter clear bulbous canopy compared with the straight sided canopy on the Hurricane. The trademark spitfire wings also help, but the difference isn't so obvious on this shot. The Spitfire wing in everything except a few very late marks had a pointed end where the straighter leading edge meets the curved trailing edge. this is a Mk1 or 1a but, by Mk 5, Spits were usually fitted with a canon on each wing that stuck out in front.
