Of the two I think I prefer this charming picture of Mother and son. It is the colours that make this one.

This is an intimate and very warm shot. I like the expressions and the photo is well cropped.

May I make a small suggestion?

There are two sets of 'catchlights' in the youngsters eyes. Remove the l/h catchlight from each eye leaving the ones just on the iris.

Classically, the catchlights should be at either 11 O'clock or 1 O'clock in the eyes and only one per eye. It all helps to draw attention and give direction to the eyes.
