i think this is a shot of a red admiral butterfly.
it was taken a couple of years ago in a local open garden.

i shot the image from the side to try and keep all the wing in focus as i was using a wide aperture and extension tubes.

Absolutely beautiful. You certainly have captured the butterfly very well. I love the way the lighting hits the wing and fades back towards the flower. Excellent composition, colours, texture, clarity and DoF. Beautifully done.
