Maybe it doesn't work then, but the foreground blur is the lip on the post in front of the one in focus, and was 100% intentional to keep in the image.

I suppose it can look strange if you weren't there to see the original subject matter! And if I'm having to explain it, it can't work.

Great perspective - well spotted. Wonder how it'd look cropped up to focus post - can see your intention but wonder if gap works, as there isn't another in the line. And crop would emphasise vertical. Nice border to tie it in

I love this Gav. The colours and dof are excellent. With respect to the blur, for me it's only the bit that actually goes over the post which is very slightly distracting. The blur to the left adds, as I think you intended. Nice work though.
