In the Masai Mara huge areas of the savannah are burnt in a controlled manner to help with fire prevention. We found this rare Black Rhino passing by on the edge of a burnt patch of grass.

A very rare encounter in this day and age Lee. Classic front on ! they are notorious for being bad tempered and not excellent
sight !! Love the mono approach to all your images. My award for perhaps the last of these in the wild.

this is a stunner and a winner..

Just 9 months ago, I was very close to these animals.. Some 120 km only.. Kaziranga National Park, India..
Could sight a few during my only visit.. But the place is earning a very bad name for poaching..
