Even though the composition is a bit jumbled this shot works for me. Nice colours!

Beautiful shot Leigh - I know how difficult it is, I tried myself a couple of weeks back,

Superb shot, Leigh. I like your composition, and you have excellent depth with everything crisp and sharp from near to far.

It's always a problem when you have to chop boats in half (so to speak) but this composition still makes sense and the light and colours are superb, a lovely image. Smile

Have to agree, I hate half boats normaly, but it says The Lakes to me, I think the calm tranquil backdrop takes the sting out of it.
Nice capture of the mist too.

Without the boats would be better for me though it does shout out the Lakes

As it is jumbled in the foreground I don't think half boats matter at all...it all leads into the lake and on to the mountains... a great clear and colourful shot well composed & taken.

Works for me Leigh, nicely done amongst the clutter, you have managed to find some order right in the centre of the image.

Hmmm. I didn't do these boats as I done them to death back in June and I didn't think I would get a decent composition from them as they were. Clearly I was wrong on the second point as I think this is excellent Leigh Smile

Thanks Martin, must admit I was dying to drag them around to give a better composition, but thanks for the comment.

It is a little cluttered but that's not your fault as this is about as good a composition as you could have got . The light is wonderful as also the colour/tones of the Catbells range and the Grasmoor and Grisedale Pike fells etc. in the background all beautifully reflected in Derwentwater.Just love it !...Phil

Works well. I like how the boats' colours match those of the fells and there is a lovely panoramic shot behind the boats in its own right.
