Glistening Inkcap

By Leilani
Wow, fungi identification is a night mare! But I have identified this as the Glistening inkcap from all the photos I took. I am only showing this one because I thought it looked really cool and a bit like a Mexican hat! But it's on it's last stages of life and will eventually dissolve as most inkcaps do, they melt like the wicked witch of the North...very weird, this is called autodigestion or deliquescence, as I understand an enzymic process to spread the spores (I stand to be corrected by the experts).

Deliquescence - a wonderful word. Sounds like a great name for a snack bar Grin Being well-edumacated this morning, a lovely delicate decomposing composition, Loren.

I am very impressed with all your knowledge. I also think the image is great too.
