Black Watch Memorial

By lenocm
The Black Watch Memorial on the outskirts of Dundee was erected in memory of those men recruited from Dundee and Angus who served in the Black Watch regiment and died during the Second World War. It was unveiled in 1959 by HM Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother and, following restoration by the Black Watch Association, was re-dedicated by HRH Prince Charles in 2009.

Really nice and close to home as many years ago i was made an honoury member of the Black Watch W.O.& Sgts Mess,by the then R.S.M. due to my work with them prior to the Regiment deployment to N.Ireland back in the early 70s.I still occasionally wear their regimental tie with pride.
