Thanks Becswillow, It started as an exercise in adding layers to see what I could achieve and just grew. Once again thank you for your comments, Dave.

Hello, David. Your manipulation is good, and I have obviously seen this done before, it is so effective. As an exercise in adding layers, you produced an interesting image. You have put this up for critique, so I will tell you what I think. Firstly, I feel the image could be tighter, concentrating on the stag and moon more. Your toning is gentle, but this could have absolutely any hue added. I'd like to see the stag's silhouette fully in front of the moon, his rump is lost in the black of the sky. I like the long shadow of the stag, but feel that stag and shadow could be made a bit larger for better effect. The light area on which he stands just looks like a horizontal strip when not green, like grass, but that's only a minor niggle. So I decided to do some modifications. I enlarged the stag and shadow and moved it further to the right, then cropped the image and added some canvas top and right, cloning in some more ground to the right. I did this because the stag is facing right and felt there should be space on that side. I also added a bit more cloud top right. The quality of the stag image has deteriorated in the process and I didn't want to sharpen because the moon wouldn't have remained subtle enough. This is because of the small amount of pixels available to me for a mod. Using the original, it should look better, and you could make the stag's outline a lot sharper. My other mods are just a play with hues.....blue, red, gold and a subtle silvery blue. See what you think.

Hi Pamelajean, Thanks for the mods, as I said I was just playing about so I'll go back and try some of your mods. the shadows of the stag are tractor marks left on the hillside and I thought I may as well use them. I will move the moon over to have the stag in full profile. A fellow tog advised me to do more work on the image so I will take both you and my friends comments onboard, and when finnished I will upload the result. Once again thank you for your comments, Dave.
