One from an early trip up to the lakes on Sunday with MrsS only to be thwarted by a series of inaccurate weather forecasts. Blea Tarn was the chosen destination and I was even thinking about heading up high for a more elevated position to catch the rising sun lighting up the surrounding landscape.
After arriving at the location, there was a solid blanket of light cloud covering the sky, yet the weather reports were forecasting it to be clear and cloudless ... also, the forecast said there would be an extremely light breeze of about 1 to 2 mph, yet on the tarn itself there was a considerable amount of disruption caused by a much stiffer breeze/wind. So making an arduous climb was discounted and option B was selected, particularly when the clouds were breaking where the sun was rising.
I has sought out these falls on a previous visit and thought that they might yield some shots ... glad I was right. Fortunately the sun did make a brief appearance
