L A T E X P L O S I O N - Revisited.

By arhb
I first uploaded this image a couple of years back, but was never completely happy with it, as it lacked contrast -
a problem that occurs with high key lighting if you push the limilts, bouncing the light all over the place.
Added to that, having spent days adding/blending/refining splatters to a black latex dress, I'd had enough of working on the image,
and when I uploaded the original to epz, it went down quite well so I left it.

Fast forward to the present, and I'm reviewing some of my past work, to make better what was already there, with techniques I've learned, and a more objective eye.
V1 is the original, with added dodge and burning to the model/latex, with a background added, with adjustments made to blend the 2 images.
V2 is the original, with added dodge and burning to the model/latex on same white background.
V3 is the original.

So, I would like some feedback on which you prefer, and if you have the time, why?

Superb detail at every level, a beautiful model, lit & taken excellently, wonderfully photo-shopped model and amazing PS effects, all put on a great contrasting background.
Love the pose and perspective too.

Version 1 for me as the others "float" whereas you can visualise the subject in a tunnel in V1. A great idea superbly developed and with brilliant photoshop work.

Thanks Stephen for reading my intro, and thus responding accordingly with a choice...
Thanks also for your GE award.

For me the dodging and burning on the latex and model bring out the details well Andrew, and she is good on the white background as it shows your work with the splashes etc well.
Also think she is anchored more in this one.
V1 is well worked but just feel when you look at the shoes she seems to be floating there, perhaps some more shadow under them would work to sort that.
Just my thoughts
A fine image Andrew

Thanks Richard - I might clone out the white specs in the ground within the shadow to give it more weight.

v1 for me - the pose is in a context - the textures add to the image, the shoes however do still float
Magical image SmileSmile

Thanks Dave, and Helen.
I've adjusted for the shoes with heavier shadow, and they now seem anchored.
