Thanks for all the comments -
these mushrooms spring up in the garden quite regularly at this time of year, in 2 specific areas.
The main challenge being to photograph them before they get eaten by the garden wildlife!
I thought I was going to need an extension tube, but the 70-200mm worked fine at 150-200mm.
First attempts were tripod mounted, but the camera was too high off the ground, so I reverted to using one of the legs of the tripod to support the lens, having turned image stabilisation off.
