Airbourne Assault ...

By sut68
Stepped right outside my comfort zone ... and absolutely loved it, though I got very dusty and a extremely crispy around the back of the neck - in fact Fran has just pointed that out to me Sad

A friend of mines son does Motocross in the 85cc Small Wheel category and has nerves of steel. He had 2 tumbles today, the second one was bad by all acounts ... but he got straight back on his bike and finished the race - WELL DONE JAMES.

Anyway, this one's not actually him ... those will follow I'm sure. This was one of the later ones I took before heading home for a rest and some shade Grin

Probably not EPZ fayre and likely to be as appreciated as an extremely whiffy one in a astronaut's uniform ... but I like it so it stays. Only cropped some off the bottom for here else it's pretty much straight off the card.

1/3200th sec @ f2, ISO 320 @ 200mm

Cath up in a bit ... need a shower, cheers for dropping by Smile

Be careful of flying stones in the LARGE version Wink

Love it mate Smile
Been trying to catch some action at local practice tracks, but work seems to get in the way all the time. I am determined to get some MX shots soon though, as I raced from the age of 13 up until about my late twenties, and it a sport I love to watch Smile

First time I've been myself mate, loved it but it was hard work in that sunshine ... will go back another time though methinks.

Big thanks too MrB ... stands out a bit like a sore thumb in my HC/EC gallery, which is no bad thing Grin

Great action shot Paul. The 40d combined with the f2.8 70-200 is a superb combination on continuous high, did some jetski stuff last year with the same combo, really great fun. Actually had one published too!

Good to get out of the comfort zone for a while, shows what a good alround photographer you are.

Why thanks Mari, that's a great compliment coming from yourself Smile Yes, the 40D works well in this situation, though all day I decided to pre-focus on the spot I wanted the riders to be in ... worked out for the main part, but they didn't always use the same lines, so a 'few' went a little astray Grin

Sorry Tony, didn't see them there ... anyway, it's got some landscape in there Wink

Cheers all ... wisdom beyond your years MrF Smile

Nice lens Neil, but if possible I would try out the actual one you're going to buy first as some are a little 'soft' at 2.8 ... the earlier model i tried was nice and quick focusing and sharp as a razor wide open.

Cheers mate, a good day it was Smile
