V1 makes the most of the dramatic sky and reflection, the sand bars are really in a supporting role as lead in lines to the groyne which in turn leads to the spectacular sky. V2 burns out the sky so you lose your best feature just to enhance the sand bars which I why I think it doesn't work as well. You could always try and blend the two or make an HDR conversion to lighten the sandbars while preserving the sky and reflection. Then again considering how perfect V1 is, what would be the point?! Smile

v1 for me - love that moodiness.
V1 is full of drama, moodyness and a quiet energy that elevates the fine composition and the lingering journey through this fine scene i feel Smile

v1 is very nice. in v2 the sky for me has lost interest, and although more detail in the sand it loses the mood. lesley

Both are excellent images but I prefer the drama and mood of v1 which keeps the rich colours of the sky and emphasises the strong graphic shapes of the sand bars. I especially like the reflected light around the rims of the sand bars - beautiful Smile
