I like the image as it is, Herman, the horse looking towards you and a good full reflection: and of the two, the colour version works for me the better.

fine capture of this excellent horse with a great reflection, i think maybe a bit more space in front of the horse would have helped.

Think i like the mono one best but it is by a nose!

Have uploaded a wee mod

Good capture Herman.
And perhaps Lady Godiva sitting on the horse may enhance it !!

A fine capture of this beautiful animal..if I may be permitted an observation...the "something is missing" you refer to may be no more than being used to viewing horse images in a landscape format as opposed to this portrait presentation, I hasten to add that I appreciate why you chose the portrait format for this. Just a thought Smile
And many thanks for your kind words on my last upload.

Great eye contact and contrasts-- this is a fine white horse!
Reflection is a plus as is emphasized in v2.

Only reduce the highlights, it is chalky in horse as well on the colocasia lily.

a great looking horse looking good in both of your images
I think I would like to see some more around the head of the horse.. moe at top and more fence...
But you can only do what you have got at the time...

Hi Herman,
I really love this photo. There is a good feeling about it.. it takes viewers into another world... the horse was excellently captured. The reflection makes the image unique...you said that you felt that something missing... I had a closer look of this photo. I'm not sure that I could offer you good advice, I only have one idea about the photo that is to blur the background. As I said that the photo brought viewer to anther world.. either it's the horse's own world or an imaginative world.. the whole clear image, made me feel a bit "intrusive", it seems for me that it would be better to see it from the distance..I'm not good at Photoshop, I'll upload a MOD for you to have a look, just show you the idea, I'll leave you to do the fine detailed work.Grin BTW, I wonder if the top part of the horse is a bit burnt...

Had time to return to this and do a slight mod. I suspect you like the full reflection but I always feel that putting the 'fulcrum' right across the middle does not give a good balance to an image. I've done a square crop which gives a better balance but does lose a lot of the reflection.
