Libby, I would think most likely a North western European Willow Warbler, the colouration in the birds do change considerably, however I think this is what you have captured.

Nice shots. The dark patches don't look like a willow warbler but if the plumage varies from place to place i guess that would the most likely. Unless it is a sedge warbler with a rather less striated back. . . hmm. . .
