Pain Is A Lonely Place.

By lifesnapper
4th February 2020; World Cancer Day.

A change of plan for my upload today. As soon as I realised that it was World Cancer Day today, I just had to mark it.
My lead image being from a Race For Life event 2018: A woman finishing a very testing 'Pretty Muddy' course while being a cancer sufferer herself.
V1, from one of last years events during a moment of silence to remember those currently fighting cancer, and for those who have lost their battle...

Many thanks for your great comments and captions on my previous upload.

All the best to all,

John.

Both are powerful, in very different ways. The frozen moment with layers of personal stories behind it.

Two very strong images, John. The lead in particular makes you stop and think...there but for the grace of god.....

Remember how far you've come, not just how far you have to go. You may not be where you want to be, but neither are you where you used to be...

Your lead says so much - the Race for Life Logo - the head without hair - the pain on her face to win despite it all.

We know of a friend dying of cancer , him and his wife have two daughters university age , their lives will never be the same.
If only we had put even half the money we spend on our war machines and bombs towards A cure for cancer maybe we'd have beaten this horrible disease by now . As already said ...their facial expressions say it all...
Great tribute John
Best regards
Walt
