Spray Can Man.

By lifesnapper
Hi all and many thanks indeed for your comments, and votes on my previous upload. A special thanks to, Isabel, for her kind user award and, to Carole for her inspired mod. Smile

Today, a bit of colour on this cold frosty morning. When I first uploaded the bigger picture of this shot, the artist himself could hardly be seen. The only lighting was from a flood light several metres away which illuminated many of his pictures on the pavement. With cropping the image, it gave me more opportunity to bring more light to the man himself. However, I did find it very hard to do and can't remember just how I arrived at the finished product. Smile (Still lots to learn about effects and processing.)

Have a good day everyone and all the best to all,

JohnSmile

The positive benefits of creative cropping you have applied are to remove unwanted distractions, concentrate the viewer's attention on the subject and presumably produce a better composition. The down-side is that lightening shadows to reveal detail offers only limited success in jpeg files.

You are certainly conducting your experiments the right way, John, for which I applaud you most sincerely.

The composition focusses attention on the artwork, the artist is peripheral albeit essential, the lighting on him is spot on for me, John.

I must agree with Bill's remarks, John: I have great admiration for these artists with their spray paintings and you have captured work by this chap so well and I do like how you have presented the lead version.

I agree with Dave that the artist is secondary to the painting - part of the story but
we can only focus on one aspect.

I do like the artwork ‘spray can man’ produces, John. Very very talented in his own right. Thanks for sharing 🙂 Also like both mods, Carole has her own unique and beautiful style,
Dave 🙂
