An attractive beastie, Lillian, and V2 is a hoot. His patterns and colouring make me think he's quite a retro guy, a 60's dood.
I've had connection problems with the storms, haven't been without electricity like you, though. But I've missed some of your pics so am off to have a browse.

Superbly shot, and a striking animal.

The black background really makes the colours stand out. Other colours could work, darker browns and greens perhaps, for a less stark look. I think white would be too much. Whenever I do still life or people I always think of alternatives for the background, some work, some don't. Not saying a colour would be better than black but some people may prefer it.
