Blue-spot Hairstreak

By livinglevels
I found this Blue-spot Hairstreak (Satyrium spini) at Les Lionnets above lake Serre-Poncon in the Hautes-Alpes.

Not totally happy with the framing and not sure what the plant is either but it was low growing. Any ideas?

There were two of these hairstreaks in the lay-bye and they were quite restless in the mid morning heat.

A beautiful capture, but as you say the placement is a little too close to the top. I know some folks can add canvas (in post processing) without thinking twice, but I'm afraid I'm not one of them! Smile Hopefully someone will come in later and give more constructive advice.

(I see you are an e2 member, it can be useful to tick the 'Modify' box when uploading, that way folk can actually show you what they mean when they give advice - perhaps you could ask if one of the guys-in-the-back-room could turn it on for you)

Lovely detail on the Hairstreak. Maybe a bit tight at the top, but at least you haven't actually clipped its wing - as I've done on many an occasion!
