Thanks for all yesterdays votes

My local nature reserve is RSPB Ham Wall and this shot was taken late on Friday afternoon. The wind had begun to drop and with the sun low and partially hidden by cloud, the surface of the water took on a stunning colour and texture.

The passing grebe, hunting for fish, created ripples that further caught the light whilst reflecting off the chocolaty water.

The bitterns are calling all the time now but the starlings are still present in large numbers in the exceptionally cold weather. Hopefully spring will come soon!
