Marbled Whites and Burnets in Provence

By livinglevels
Driving into Provence form the French Alps we stopped near Thoard for lunch only to see large numbers of Marbled White butterflies and Burnet Moths feeding on wild lavender on the opposite side of the lane. The weather was hot but overcast with a thunder storm approaching form the South.

The lavender was growing under a tree which also contained more than 10 White Admiral butterflies. An amazing site!
