Taken at 2400m above sea level, this is the view at the half way point on the cable car route up the the summit of La Meije at La Grave in the Haute Alps - the receding glacier and white clouds reflecting in the man made pool.

I tried to link the lead in line of the wall into the moraine at the bottom right of the glacier.

The light was very strong with the weather forecast predicting UV level 16 at the top of the mountain. The snow was blinding and sun glasses were an absolute necessity on the glacier. It seemed bazaar to walk on snow in +20C
