hmm i'm undecided. i like the way you're trying to use the subtle lighting. but in my opinion it's made the image a little too flat and "grey". It's taken a little bit too much detail and contrast out of it for my liking. sorry to sound so negative!! i've been nice on plenty of other photos of yours though

I don't know what software you use to download and re-size your images, but if you can, have a look at the histogram somewhere. I would be surprised if it wasn't baised heavily towards the left, darker side (ooh, that sounds a bit Star Wars!!)
At the moment, the image is too dark overall - you need to stretch out for some lighter tones in the flower. Not far, but it needs a push. That great shot is still there, it just needs a tiny touch of some brighter tones.
If you have something like Photoshop Elements, have a play with the Levels tool and see what you can do.
Oh, and go for portrait orientation, and see what you think.

Great shot Liz, looks too dark in the thumbnail, but when viewed large it is spot on.
