Jump for Joy

By lloydee
After seeing some awesome candid shots by my brother (azzabc), Paul Stefan & Koen Pieters (belgikskenikske). Thought it was my turn to put one up.

And yes . . . I went back to sunny Valencia as my first assignment by Barclays.

This small fella was playing "tag" with his sister. After sitting in this spot for hour and not taking a single picture with a character in the frame I felt the urge to "jump for joy" when he ran into the picture.

what a reward for your patience. An awesome photo; pure magic. the clarity of it, the b&w tonality, the rich composition, and the boy in a great mid-air pose. One of my "month's favorites".
Deserves a lot of praise and attention.

Love the abstract shapes of the buildings and the dynamic feel to this with the kid running...

A well frozen point of movement which creates just enough energy and interest - enhanced by the black and white approach too.

Captures the spirit of Valencia. Freedom and enjoyment, mono works well. Ron.

Just been to valencia myself and visited these building. You could spend alot of time here, as the buildings are like nothing else I've seen, so many curves to photograph. Good shot.

Excellent. My only slight concern is that the white roof should maybe have a tiny bit of tone - and therefore form - about it. But magic stuff.
