365 Day 119 - Cuffed

So last time I went in the docs to get some more gout tablets, he took my blood pressure. apparently my blood pressure was high....what do they expect...... I'M A BLOOMING MODERATOR!!!!!! it's bound to be high.

Seriously though, its been high for many years and yet when I take readings at home it is fine. They suspect a combination of "white-coat hypertension" and being a fat lardy bloater might be to blame. Anyway this time the doctor is keen to find out if I have high blood pressure, so they have put me on a blood pressure machine that registers my blood pressure every 20 minutes. So every 20 minutes for the next 24 hours it will bleep, I stand still and it squeezes my arm till it runs out of blood. I don't know why everyone doesn't do this, it is a joy to walk around with a cuff on your arm and a block of electronics on your belt!

I had one of those a few years back..... after a couple of readings it stopped.

After this happened with 3 different machines I had to take the BP reading manually, but only 3 or 4 times spread out during the day.

A new kind of torture!! Wink

The last time my Daughter fainted (in Debenhams no less!!), they put that machine on her in hospital - it really makes you jump when it starts off................how is that going to reducing blood pressure!
