by my side

By lobsterboy
This is my little black cocker-spaniel Boysie on the beach thrsday at St.Bees in driving rain. For me this picture sums up his spirit, whatever was happening he always wanted to be part of it and to be by your side.

Yesterday we were walking in Borrowdale with him when he suddenly screamed and held his back leg up. We carried him to the car and took him to the vets.
The vet said he had broken his femur (which would normally be the result of a car crash not slipping when walking). The vets, gave him some pain killers and i spent the night sleeping with him so that he wouldn't be alone and scared. We drove home to Essex this morning & straight to our vets.

It turns out that he was riddled with bone cancer, so we had no choice but to put him to sleep. We have now lost 2 dogs in 7 months - I am just devastated.

my sympathy goes out to you, it is a week now since our whippet left us, we were gutted, the house is just so quiet with out him. Nothing can replace their little characters, but they stay in our hearts for ever......

Sorry I missed this.
So very sorry to hear the news, Chris. At least no more pain for him now, and he can now run free at the rainbow bridge with Smudge.

Just saw this,,I was thinking before I read it that it's the kinda shot all dog owners would love.
Dogs just dont give a **** what the weather is what your walking through, how your day was as long as their with you.Two minutes up to the shops two hours away the welcome is always full on.
Boysie will be grateful for all the love and care especially at the end.

A Genius once siad,,Smile

Its bloody hard and this dog family send their regards.
