No, it doesn't, Chris. It's very well done.
I downloaded with the intention of doing a mod, slightly darker and with a touch of vignetting, but seen against a black bg, it was already more as I envisaged it. The choice of a light, neutral bg as you have used makes it appear almost too light, in my eyes.

Yes and it looks horrible if I'm to be honest with you Chris. The sky looks unreal and there is no shade or contrast definition in the foreground area where you would expect it looking into the sun.

Compare this the your Kelly Hall Tarn image towards the Old Man where that looks so natural and believable. There are almost blacks in the tarn, natural light throughout and a believable sky. That image is side lit and graduates from dark at the bottom to light at the top, just how I'd expect. This one has a uniform luminance throughout so it just doesn't look right to me.

I normally don't comment on images but you asked and you had one opinion that thought it didn't look HDR so I've just mentioned it for balance.

Thanks john,

Honest opinions are always welcome here Smile

Just for interest I have processed one of the original raw files and uploaded it as a comparison, the difference is not as wild as I was expecting to be honest.
The main difference seems to be a kind of motion judder in the sky, I'll have to look into what causes that or what I can do to sort it in PS.

I kind of know what you mean, I was never completly able to get the look I wanted in the post processing. I 'll have to revisit this at another time and try again from scratch I think.

I am glad you chose to break that rule for me Smile

Version 2 looks so much more realistic Chris and you achieved your aim of a rock and sunset in the same image.

For subject interest and composition, the image doesn't do much for me but that's for another time... Wink

Yeah, I'm surprised how much I managed to get out of a single raw file.
Though I'm not convinced the look of either is quite what I was after!
