Beautiful.
If it were mine I would have cloned out most of the highlights in the eye and saturated the colour slightly.
I have a similar example in my portfolio.

Lorraine - I tried this in the Photostudio 5.5 that came with my printer and it works.
Using an eyedropper click on the colour in the eye.
Then click on the patch of that colour and on the colour chart move the dot to a slightly more saturated version of the colour.
Pick the paintbrush and reduce saturation to about 10% and paint over the eye, this should increase the saturation without obliterating the detail.
Hope it works and good luck.

You have asked about the tool I used to select the pencil of one of my recent photos.
Well I have used the 'Polygonal lasso tool' in PS.
Tx for visiting my portfolio.

Great shot, cats always seem to be willing to be test subjects for photography, I know mine are. I like the selective colouring, I agree with aftertherain about the highlights in the eye, they should be pretty easy to remove though. -click-

Went to your pf following your helpful comments & take great great pleasure in making this an RC with the magic 30.
I like the treatment of slective colouring, (as you may have guessed) and this has been done well.
Agree about the highlights but I think the colour is pretty good.

P.s If you really closely at my cats eye, you can see a 4pt of semi skimmed milk.....lol, maybe I should make it a bit bigger it might make for an interesting shot !

Excellent close up, I like the tight crop.
A good example of selective colouring, I have been doing several recently (Red seems to have been my choice ! )

This is the picture I prefur (of the two)... the reflections make the eye's more alive I think. A lovely angle to take. Might try it on mine!
