  • Eggborough power station, Yorkshire, 1973

Thanks for the comment. I'll re-scan it and scan the other three (before they fade away altogether) when I've re-familiarised myself with Vuescan. It's ages since I did any scanning and the latest version has changed quite a bit since I last used it. Luckily I had the foresight to buy the 'pro' version at the time which gave me unlimited upgrades, so my serial number is still valid.

  • The Old Man of Storr, Skye

Thanks for the comments. Apologies if I don't reply to any more comments but I'm off to Scotland tomorrow for 2 or 3 weeks.

  • Nagasaki Crab Apple Bonsai

Excellent shot. The only thing I would suggest is to get a piece of very matt black material (velvet?) to cover the table (not the Japanese one, but the one that that is standing on - I'm sure you get the idea). You can get cheap offcuts on ebay.

  • What flower is this?

    Thanks Terry and mirc.

  • What car is this?

I tried that but it's illegible (I should have zoomed in with the camera of course).

    Thanks all.

  • Unknown thingy

Thanks Paree and husband. He's correct - thanks to someone on the alamy forum, I now know what it is - a marker for surveying. One of these

  • The Great Ridge

Thanks for all the comments. I've just realised I put the wrong date - this was actually taken yesterday, 2007 (date now corrected).

It was a great walk Ruth but hard work at times - some big drifts to wade through higher up.

Lovely shot but I would have liked to have seen more of the tarn

  • Vince (Loweskid)

Definitely one of the best shots ever taken of me - you can't recognise me!! You've done well to make a decent shot from a very dull scene (well, it would be if I was in it - thought I'd get that one in before anyone else did). What the hell was I carrying in that backpack - answers on a postcard please.

Edit - just seen the modded versions of Bri's and now realise I had picked up a stowaway in my sack - no wonder it was so heavy!

  • B of the Bang

Thanks folks - your comments are appreciated. I was wondering whether to clone out the lamp-posts but decided to leave them in for scale - I'd be interested to hear what others think?

  • The Boat

Blimey, that was quick Ian! Thanks

  • Mobile Home

Well I think the mobile fairy hut is a strong possibility but the Belgian Comedy Latrine sounds far more plausible!

    Excellent stuff folks, thanks.

  • Idyllic Valley, Norway

The valley is the Romsdal, the sharp peak on the right is the Romsdalhorn and the famous vertical cliff the Troll Wall (Trollveggen). Lovely picture - brings back memories of my stay there. I hope the mosquitoes were kind to you!

It's slightly green but not too much to worry about (on my monitor anyway).

    Great stuff Warb!

Thanks for the comments folks. There was a program about that farm on radio 4 last year - I have a recording of it (oops, shouldn't say that..!)

  • Lowry building

I love the tones on this image, beautiful.

It's at Salford Quays. On the other side of the water is the Imperial War Museum North. They are doing something to the building at the moment and there is some scaffolding about half way along spoiling this view.
