The moment of lift-off

Until you see the osprey fish at close quarters it is difficult to appreciate just what risks they take. The bird is almost entirely submerged at points, with just the tail still above the surface. Then the effort to lift themselves back out of the water is tremendous, and if the fish is large can take more than one attempt.

Words simply fail me, a glorious hard hitting brilliantly captured watery explosion, depicting the magnificent Bird of Prey doing a spot of fishing, a truly awesome spectacle, one of which you should be immensely proud of.

On the basis that of the few images I had short-listed, this one probably required the most effort and a tad of good fortune. After all, the Osprey doesn't know he/she is flying straight toward you.
